More power to foreign friends of Infanta

Editor's Note: As usual, Ambassador Rudy Arizala sends the first comments regarding articles we posted. Below is his comment on the Victorian Tea Party.

Congratulations to Madame Turner and to the other organizers and members of the Ladies Victorian Tea Party which recently netted US$1,390.00 for fundraising in the reconstruction of the Gabaldon school building in Infanta, Quezon. I understand this year there would follow other events designed to raise more funds to the "Restoration of Hope" of the Youth of Infanta in having again decent, reliable school rooms where they could receive stable foundation of education and be better citizens not only of our country but also of the world which to MacLuhan has become a "global village".

More power and best wishes to foreign friends of Infanta who have joined us in this worthy endeavor of attaining good and stable educational foundation for our youth of the Land.

Finally, we received some feedback

Editor's note: although we'd rather have a name attached to the feedback below, we're posting this feedback because at least it's asking some important questions that others also might have.
What is Gabaldon project? Is it a historical school building? Why not build a modern one instead? Who is the Project Manager in Infanta? Is there accountability? I'm wondering why not too many people are even motivated. What is the plan? Intended goal? Is there feasible business plan so that people would buy into it? I don't think the younger generation will jump in with joy and open up their wallet just because someone thought of creating a replica of an old building they never knew for the sake of folks who once went there. How will it help the new students? I'm not saying it's a bad idea but I'm not really sure either if it's a good one. Please inform...

Hindi pala ako nag-iisa!

I agree with you that Filipino telenovelas are addicting. To appreciate them, as you've said, just follow the story until it ends. That's why I have to go home without delays from work to watch them. If I missed one, I had to call my friends. Nakaka-addict talaga!

One thing I want to share is I admire our Filipino actors and actresses in portraying their respective roles. Puwedeng-puwede sa Oscar award!

Maipagmamalaki talaga ang mga Pinoy in all fields of achievements.

I am proud to be a Filipino and an OFW. I am proud of all Infantahins working here in Saudi Arabia and in other Middle East countries.

More power to you and the Metro Infanta Foundation. Keep up the good works.

Stewardship ... of government and environment

Stewardship is ringing louder nowadays reminding us how vital it is in our lives as ever. Three mission days are currently going on right here in our parish of St. John Vianney. It hopes to refresh and rekindle the gratitude of parishioners towards God, the source of all our blessings.

With faith, we ought to partake our blessings to God as a manifestation of love and gratitude. Gestures need not be done necessarily through the popular and expedient monetary fashion but by sharing the countless ways each one of us is gifted by our Creator. God's gifts come in so many ways and to make our homage profoundly meaningful, we need to choose from those we treasured most instead of the one we needed less, not those that are inferior but the best of the kind that we possess or picking those who are generous instead of those who are covetous.

ARE FILIPINOS STINGY?

This is a reflection on your question cited above and first posed on September 1, 2008.

I am not so sure about the “stinginess” of the Filipinos when it comes to giving to a cause. Stinginess implies reluctance to give or being tightfisted. But are we? We are known for our hospitality and our spirit of bayanihan (people helping people). Our spirit of hospitality even extends to offering the best food, the best room in the house (if you are a houseguest) and the best attention.
