Gabaldon Inaugural set for July 21, 2011; still needs $43,000 to complete construction
by Mila Glodava
Patrick Melaney and Kristin Kramer, St. Thomas More youth (eight of them) on a mission trip to Infanta, help with the construction. They also painted three classrooms of the sixth grade classes.
With the Gabaldon now almost half-way done, the contruction committee has set Thursday, July 21 for its inaugural celebration. Infantahins are welcome to come to this historical milestone. Please save this date. But we still need at least $43,000 to complete the construction. I hope the Infantahins will rally around this project that is nearing completion and be a part of this community project. You will be proud to go back home and know that you have made a contribution to the school that for most of us was instrumental in our educational foundation, and for many more, our professional success. It would be nice to see the promiment or less prominent names and families of Infanta (you know who you are) to be included in the list below. Remember this is an investment for the future of our beloved town.

Meanwhile, The St. Thomas More challenge gift of $15,000 still needs to waiting for Infantahins to complete the match. As you can see a number of our kababayans have been making an effort to help us match this gift. It would be a shame not to receive it in full. To date we have received a total of $8,895. This means we still need $6,105 to complete the match.. The generous donors have extended the deadline for the matching gifts to February 28. We have the momentum now. Let's keep the donations coming. Thank you.
As of February 16, the following have collected in pledges or payments towards the matching gifts. The total collection and pledges is now nearly $157,000 in pledges and payments. We just need $43,000 to make our goal of $200,000. Of the collected amount we have sent a total of $115,000. Because the construction is set to be completed in May. The sooner we can collect the funds, though, the better it is. So please help us reach our goal by April, at least. Thank you!

There are more than 400 Infantahins on the "Where are they now?" list. Let's hope more of our kababayans will jbe added to the above list. We need to raise just a little over $43,000 to reach the $200,000 we need to rebuild the Gabaldon! Let us build the Gabaldon!
